Horror Sequel Reviews: Bigger, Bolder, But Better?

Vash Level 2 Gujarati horror film

Vash Level 2, the sequel to the Gujarati supernatural thriller Vash, has sparked discussions after critics praised its ambition to expand regional horror. Directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, the film picks up twelve years after the events of the original story.

Reviews highlight the eerie atmosphere and the director’s bold vision. However, some felt the film suffered from uneven pacing and a rushed climax. Despite this, many agreed it successfully balanced scares with commentary on modern-day Gujarat.

Rahul Desai, widely known as Reel Reptile, described the film as a well-crafted sequel. He commended Krishnadev Yagnik’s ability to go beyond genre tropes and create a chilling cinematic experience with social relevance.

Performances received strong attention. Hitu Kanodia impressed as Atharv, a distressed father, while Hiten Kumar brought depth to a menacing role. Janki Bodiwala, who won a National Award for Vash, delivered a quieter yet haunting presence, adding intensity through stillness.

Not everyone was equally convinced. One viewer commented that although production values were stronger, the film lacked the raw passion of the first part. He rated it six out of ten and even considered it family-friendly compared to its predecessor.

From the early reactions, it is clear that Vash Level 2 has divided audiences. While many admire its scope, ambition, and scares, others miss the intensity of Vash. For horror lovers, it remains a recommended watch in regional cinema.
