In terms of the quality of the Madame Web trailer, it is promising. From the background score to the not-so-Marvel-esque darkness, the trailer indeed cooks up something delicious. However, one might complain that the trailer lacked Marvel-level comic relief.
Worry not; if you check the comments section, you’ll know that you’ve struck gold. Roasting in the comment section is a Gen Z trend, but this one will truly make you laugh. The majority of the ‘meme’ comments refer to a trend that goes like, ‘I loved that part where…’ and they mention funny things.
In one comment, a user said, ‘I loved that part where Madame Web says “nothing is stronger than family” and proceeds to save the girls,’ which actually refers to the Fast and Furious franchise.
There is one nomination for Flash’s cringey dialogue of ‘we are flash’ as one user said, ‘I loved the part when she went from saying “I AM MADAME WEB” to “WE ARE MADAME WEB”. Truly amazing. Can’t wait to see this in theaters.’
One of the funniest ones goes like this: ‘I loved the part where Madame Web says “I can see the future”. And the girls are like “I missed the part where that’s my problem,”‘ and another user added to the past part by saying, ‘impressive, your parents must be very proud.’
If we keep the jokes and trolls aside, the trailer does look a lot promising, especially with everyone’s love for Spiderman and anything distantly related to it. Although a female-led film just got thrashed at the Box Office, it isn’t a good enough reason to stop producing them.
