“Think you may be my only friend
I gave you away
I hope it was worth it in the end.”
As Elliot’s voice faded into oblivion, “Euphoria” lost one of its brightest assets last night. We have lost Angus Cloud, bringing sorrow not only to the fans but the entire entertainment industry. The 25-year-old star played a crucial role as Fezco “Fez” O’Neill, a drug dealer, in HBO’s “Euphoria.”
The Oakland Fire Department reports that they responded to a medical emergency at approximately 11:30 a.m, and the patient was already deceased. They are currently conducting a death investigation, and as of now, the cause behind the death remains unknown.
Angus’s family released a heartwarming message, expressing how fortunate they were to have known him. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. Angus was special to all of us in so many ways – as an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son. Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
In addition to being a part of “Euphoria,” Angus also featured in a couple of movie projects such as “North Hollywood” (2021) and “The Line” (2023). Although Fez was his first acting role, he hit it out of the park. However, he faced numerous hurdles, as many questioned his character and diminished his credibility.
At the time of his death, Angus was going through a tough mental state. Losing his father wasn’t easy on an already grieving heart, and his problems were amplified. This is living proof that our efforts are not enough when it comes to talking about mental health. We need to do more, we need to do better.
