Meg 2 To Gulp The Flash Collection Soon

Meg 2 CollectionAfter multiple failures, Warner Bros. has finally figured out the formula, and two back-to-back box office bombs are enough to make a strong statement. “Meg 2” is the next box office success by Warner Bros., and the current statistics indicate that there is no sign of stopping.

Last year, the studio indeed experienced a disaster, registering only one film in the top ten highest-grossing films. However, this year brings about a change.

Warner Bros.’ venture “Meg 2” has proven to be a success, collecting $256.9M worldwide. If it were to be released during the Barbenheimer era, one can only imagine how staggering the statistics would be.

The thriller featuring Jason Statham hit the US market on August 4th and, up until that point, it hadn’t shown any signs of slowing down. In terms of domestic earnings, it has reached $54M.

Despite these impressive numbers, the US market is still under the influence of the Barbie and Oppenheimer craze. “Meg 2” stands forth in terms of collection, but when it comes to records, it’s knocking on the doors of ‘The Flash’.

Although the domestic numbers are relatively low, the international storm is what’s fueling the victory lap for “Meg 2”. China emerges as the biggest market for the shark-thriller, with the market grossing $69M. In terms of the complete international collection, it totals around $202M.

While the film is turning a profit, the statistics are not as intriguing as those of the first installment. Even though the film has already doubled its budget, it is only halfway to the numbers of “The Meg”. With such a strong cast and acceptance in China, the film will likely stay in theaters for a longer timeframe, easily earning the remaining bucks.
