One big film can change the release plans of several smaller films. The latest example is Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam, with Itlu Arjuna and Summer Holidays now moving to November 6.
Interestingly, both small films were initially announced for an October 9 release. After Aadarsha Kutumbam entered the same release race, they planned to arrive on October 30. However, with Aadarsha Kutumbam now scheduled for October 30, both films have moved out of the race once again and are set to release on November 6.
Meanwhile, Aadarsha Kutumbam will clash with Vishwak Sen’s Cult on October 30, setting up a direct box-office battle.
For small films, release planning is more than just picking a date. The makers must consider competition, theatre availability and whether their films will get enough screens or not. Repeated changes can also affect publicity plans and budgets.
The latest reshuffle once again highlights the challenge small films face in finding a suitable release window. While Aadarsha Kutumbam and Cult prepare for their October 30 clash, Itlu Arjuna and Summer Holidays will now look to make November 6 work in their favour.
