Producer Anil Sunkara openly stated that there were mishaps with Agent. He apologised for letting everyone down with this film.
Now, the producer is high on the success of his latest film, Samajavaragamana. At a media meet, he spoke briefly about Agent’s result.
“Me and the director wanted to give a good film for Akhil. We felt regardless of the result, the film will showcase Akhil in a good way. We believed the Akhil-Mammootty sequences will work out but that didn’t happen. The film’s failure taught me a big lesson” Anil said.
Anil added that “going with a bound script will mean there’s a 10% chance of deviation in the box office verdict. But without a bound script, the scope for error goes up massively and that’s a huge risk”.
Anil vowed to get back with Akhil again in the due course and deliver him a winning film, as has been promised before Agent.
The producer adds that Agent did bring financial stress on him. About the OTT release, he says he doesn’t know why Sony Liv is delaying the OTT release as he has sold the film already and has no idea why Sony is holding it back.
Coming to Samajavaragamana, the producer said he expected the success right in the script stage. “I liked it the day I first heard the story. I should thank Sundeep Kishan for sending the story to me. I liked it in the first hearing itself and the movie was shot as planned. We are so confident about the film. So, we screened Premieres in advance. In Nizam, we had twenty Premieres on the day before and got 10 Lakhs Share. The strategy helped big time. Samajavaragamana success is a huge relief for me,” he told.
Speaking about his next film, Bholaa Shankar. “Bholaa Shankar is a family movie. The Chemistry between Chiranjeevi garu and Keerthy Suresh will be excellent. I am very confident about it. The movie will erase any doubts about the viability of remakes,” he confidently said.
