Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 is finally ready for its worldwide release, with grand premiere shows scheduled tonight starting in an hour or so. After last week’s financial hurdles and confusion, the team assured fans that everything is on track.
For a moment, there was worry again when the Telangana High Court struck down the government’s permission for higher ticket prices and special shows. The court ruled that the G.O. allowing premium pricing was not valid and issued notices to the Film Development Corporation and the production house. The next hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.
Because this order came just hours before the premiere, rumors spread online that the paid premieres might be cancelled once again. The makers immediately clarified that the premieres would continue as planned. Bookings have been strong, and paid premieres will begin at 9 PM in Hyderabad and other regions.
Producer Raam Achanta reassured fans by saying, “Don’t have any doubts, enjoy Akhanda 2’s box office destruction.” The film brings back the successful combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu, and expectations are extremely high. Fans are excited to see Balakrishna once again in the powerful Aghora role, and the movie is set for a solid opening on Day 1.
