Allari Naresh knows exactly what he wants from the audience this time that’s laughter, not logic.
Ahead of the release of Ramba Oorvasi Menaka, the actor has made it clear that viewers should not sit in the theatre trying to find logic in every scene. His request is simple: come, relax and enjoy the comedy.
The film marks Naresh’s return to the genre that made him popular. After spending the last few years doing more serious films, he is back with a fantasy comedy that brings Ramba, Oorvasi and Menaka into the real world.
Allari Naresh has been repeatedly promoting the film as a light-hearted entertainer. He says the intention is to give audiences two and half hours of fun rather than another serious or intense experience.
That message is also interesting because audiences today often look for logic, continuity and explanations in even comedy films. Naresh, however, seems to be asking them to make an exception for this one.
Ramba Oorvasi Menaka is releasing on September 4. For Naresh, the film is also a return to his strongest zone, comedy, after a long gap.
Whether that formula works with today’s audience will be known tomorrow. But Naresh has already made his expectations clear: don’t overthink it, just laugh.
