After becoming a pan-India star with Pushpa, Allu Arjun appears to be taking a very different approach to planning his career. According to industry buzz, he is no longer just choosing scripts. He is carefully choosing filmmakers with distinct styles that also connect with today’s Gen Z audience. His target is to make films that appeal to the younger generation, who form the main theatre-going audience today.
He is currently working with Atlee on Raaka, a massive visual spectacle expected to target the pan-India and international markets. After that, he is expected to team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for AA23. Both films are believed to have the potential to enter the Rs. 1,000 crore club.
But that’s just one part of the bigger picture.
Reports also suggest that discussions are ongoing for projects with Basil Joseph, while Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s name continues to be linked with another film backed by T-Series. Interestingly, all four directors have completely different filmmaking styles.
Atlee is known for grand commercial entertainers. Lokesh Kanagaraj excels in realistic action dramas. Basil Joseph is admired for emotionally driven storytelling. Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for intense characters and hard-hitting screenplays.
This has led many in the industry to believe that Allu Arjun isn’t trying to repeat the Pushpa formula. Instead, he seems to be building a filmography that showcases different shades of his acting while expanding his reach across markets.
Another interesting point is that despite Pushpa 2 becoming a blockbuster, Allu Arjun has not rushed into Pushpa 3. Instead, he appears to be prioritizing fresh collaborations with some of India’s most sought-after directors.
Much depends on the schedules of the directors and the scale of these productions. However, one thing is becoming increasingly clear. Allu Arjun’s career choices after Pushpa suggest that he is thinking beyond being a Telugu superstar.
