A 30 year old quarry owner from Andhra Pradesh was arrested by the Police after he allegedly raped a Television artiste from Mumbai. He reportedly approached her posing as a producer from the Kannada film industry and lured her to Bengaluru with an offer to act in a Kannada film.

The accused reportedly met her in a Birthday function in March and called her to Bengaluru for a screen test. He even booked air tickets and arranged for hotel accommodation in Koramangala. However there is no screen test even in two days and it is then the women grew suspicious.
She demanded to meet the director of the film. The man assured her a chance and give her a sedative mixed juice and raped her. He later threatened her to silence saying that he will release the rape video on Youtube. The One Lakh Cheque he gave her also bounced. The TV artiste later approached with the help of an NGO.
