Avatar 2 has registered a very good opening weekend in India. The film has reportedly collected Rs 161 crores gross in India in its opening weekend.
The film has had a sensationally good run in the Telugu states as well. It has collected a total of Rs 37 crores gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the opening weekend. This is one of the best openings for an English film in the Telugu market.
Avatar 2 – Way Of Water has collected a worldwide gross of Rs 434 crores and this is on an underwhelming note, considering the huge costs involved.
The film needs to have a sensationally long run if it is to match the box office expectations laid upon it.
The encouraging thing here is that the film’s collections in India were on an upward spiral in the opening weekend. The 3rd collections were better than the 2nd day collections which were in turn better than opening day collections.
