Avatar – The Way of Water is the biggest and most-awaited release this holiday season and it has garnered good second-day collections. Though the movie had mixed reviews, the draw to the theatres was huge in Andhra and Telangana making it a hit in the circuit.
In all, the film made Rs 40 crore, though it looked like the collections dropped in Nizam/ Andhra, Kerala. The collections went down by 3.5 crore net in these two circuits. But day 1 more than made up for it when there were an insane number of people at theatres and Avatar 2 made around Rs 8 crore. The previous best for any Hollywood movie in the circuit was Rs 5.50 crore.
Mumbai saw the best collections as the numbers jumped by 30% which was still less than those compared to Nizam/ Andhra. For now, day 2 collections are at Rs 80 crore plus heading towards Rs 125 crore net as the bookings for the third day are strong in Nizam/Andhra, especially the English 3D version.

Friday – Rs 40 crore
Saturday – Rs 40.5 crore
Total – Rs 80.5 crore
