Upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’, starring actors Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone in the leading roles, has been the hot topic of a lot of discussions lately. However, a petition against the film has been filed in a Magistrate court in Pune. Apparently, Hemant Patil, of Bharat against Corruption NGO filed the petition via advocate Wajid Khan seeking a ban on the movie.

The NGO President alleged that the film’s portrayal of the historic tale is distorting its authenticity. The movie, which is about the late King Shrimant Bajirao Peshwe, has a song featuring Bajirao’s wives Kashibai and Mastani, played by Priyanka and Deepika, which is allegedly “distorting history”.
The song features the ‘Pinga’ dance form, popular in the Marathi culture, which according to Patil, has been shown as an ‘item song’ in the movie. The Court hearing regarding the plea will happen on November 26th.
