Drishyam the new Venkatesh film has opened with below par collections all over on the first day. While the numbers for the day are still being compiled we already have our first report from overseas on the premiere numbers.
Drishyam had the widest release ever for a Venkatesh movie in overseas. Even the premiere locations for the film were a record. Add to it the film had a slew positive reviews leading up to the release yet, the Venkatesh starrer has failed to get a decent opening. The numbers reported for the premiere are around $14K which is pretty low any which way we look at it. However there is a clear positivity from the people who have seen the film, one has to wait and see if this positivity turns into good numbers over the weekend.
