Ravi Teja’s BMW: Will OTT Audience React Differently?

Ravi Teja in Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi

Ravi Teja stepped out of his regular Mass MahaRaja image and attempted something different with Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi. Directed by Kishore Tirumala, the film released as a Sankranti festive treat for family audiences on January 13.

The movie received below average reviews and mixed word of mouth. Accordingly, its box office performance also remained not-so-great. However, when compared to Ravi Teja’s recent films, this one can be considered slightly better. Audiences have stopped trusting Ravi Teja due to back to back terrible films, so the public skipped this film in theaters. Despite the Sankranti holiday season, the film emerged as a flop.

While other Sankranti releases arrived on OTT platforms last month, the OTT release of Bhartha Mahashayulaku Wignyapthi was delayed. Many viewers who missed it in theatres have been waiting for its digital release, but delays in closing the digital rights deal reportedly pushed back the streaming date.

Now, sources confirm that the issue has been resolved. The film will begin streaming on ZEE5 from March 13.

Ravi Teja appears in a simple husband role, which differs from his usual high energy mass characters. Heroines Aashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi add glamour, and a few comedy scenes and songs work in the film’s favor. We have to see if the OTT audience appreciates these aspects of the movie or troll it for offering nothing novel or unique.
