As expected, Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan has made a huge roar at the Indian box office as his latest outing Jawan has gotten off to a record-breaking start.
The film has collected in the range of Rs 65 crores in the Hindi belt which is an all-time record for a Hindi film. The previous record was also with SRK as his Pathan had collected Rs 56 crore nett on the opening day.
The minor advantage of Sri Krishna Janmashtami helped the cause for the film in the Hindi belt. The mass belts exploded on a never before scale.
In the Telugu states, the bookings were phenomenal for a Hindi film and this is the best-ever opening for a Hindi film in AP and TS and the numbers are bigger than the Tamil market.
The Telugu states and Tamil market added another 8 crores to the tally. The total all-language collections are at Rs 73 crores nett now. The overseas collections will add to this tally. The numbers are yet to be out. Once they are added, the overall tally will go up steeply further.
Jawan has now posted unprecedented numbers on the opening day it would take some doing to better these. Salaar could try to challenge it this year. And then there will be Pushpa 2 staking its claim next year.
