YSR Congress Social Media teams have been targeting Vishwak Sen’s Laila since last night for some comments of actor Prudhvi. They are trending #BoycottLaila and that pushed the actor and Producer Sahu Garapati to come before the media and distance themselves from Prudhvi’s comments.
They clarified that the comments were made in their absence when they went to receive Chiranjeevi and their film should not be made a victim for that.

The actual problem in this issue is different.
Pre-release events are the stages where all the actors small and big will get to talk.

But most of the time the small actors go unnoticed. We are talking about the likes of Prudhvi and Jabardasth artists like Hyper Aadi and others.
So they came up with a new idea to garner some space.

They started making comments praising Pawan Kalyan or abusing the YSR Congress.
Pawan Kalyan fans are big in numbers and when such comments are made, they get a loud cheer from fans. Also, the clips go viral on Social Media. So, it has become a habit for many small actors.
This has become even more after TDP-Janasena’s victory in the recent election.
Something like this did not happen for the first time in Laila but it just got amplified somehow this time.
Since the movie also gets some publicity, the makers did not address it till now. But the makers of Laila got alert and went to the extent of calling for a Pressmeet.
Vishwak Sen apologized and pleaded not to target the film.
Keeping aside if the YSR Congress is at the receiving end or any other party, it is best if celebrities do not talk about Politics in film events.
Tomorrow, the Government may change and the industry will be troubled. Also, actors supporting the YSR Congress may start talking on the stages. Things will only get awkward. It is totally unnecessary.
As far as these Boycott calls are concerned, there were many of them in the past and almost all of them are toothless.
