The much-hyped pre-release event of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra was slated to happen for the fans and media in the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Along with the lead actors, the evening was supposed to be graced by director Ayan Mukerji, SS Rajamouli, and NTR.
NTR fans, too, reached Ramoji Film City in large numbers, but the event got canceled at the last minute due to security issues. Telangana police denied permission for the Brahmastra event as the entire police machinery is on the ground for the Ganesh festival, and they don’t want to take any chances due to recent communal tensions.
This sudden development caused a huge disappointment for the fans and also the film team, who reached the venue well in advance.
If reports are to be believed, Rs. 2.25 Crore has gone into the drain because of the cancellation. The event was later shifted to Park Hyatt, which cost another 10 Lakhs. These expenses are an extra burden on the team of Brahmastra, which is already suffering due to high budget issues.
According to reports, Brahmastra has been made on a budget of 400 crores, and it has to do extremely well in all languages to recover the investment.
In such a case, another loss of a few crores will definitely hurt the team.
