Bollywood audience have been inclined towards Telugu content of late. But the key here is to maintain Telugu originality like the way RRR and Pushpa did.
Coming to the topic, today’s release, the Hindi remake of Chatrapathi, featuring Bellamkonda Srinivas in the titular role has opened to disastrous reviews.
Chatrapathi is being lambasted by the Bollywood critics. The word of mouth is very alarming as well. The openings are said to be almost negligible, according to reports.
Srinivas has a decent digital market in Hindi as his Hindi dubbed films get good views on YouTube. He hoped to transcend this into his Hindi theatrical market with the remake of Prabhas and Rajamouli’s blockbuster Chatrapathi but it backfired badly.
Several Hindi critics have called Chatrapathi remake as one of the worst films in recent times.
Well, remaking a blockbuster might seem like a safe bet, but it requires a certain degree of finesse to cater to the new set of audience. It is evident that VV Vinayak and Srinivas have failed overwhelmingly on this front.
