Two giants of Indian cinema, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, are set to join hands for a landmark new project. Kamal Haasan recently announced the film under his prestigious banner, Raaj Kamal Films International, with Rajinikanth playing the lead. The project initially had director Sundar C attached, but he exited the film due to some reasons.
Cibi Chakravarthi, best known for delivering the Tamil hit Don, comes on board to direct the new movie. Adding further strength to the team, Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music. The film is expected to start rolling soon.

As confirmed by the makers, #Thalaivar173 is slated for a grand Pongal 2027 release. The remaining cast and crew details will be announced shortly.
