Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has delivered several landmark films during his illustrious career, but few have enjoyed the popularity and longevity of the Drishyam franchise. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the crime-thriller series redefined the suspense genre in Indian cinema and built a massive fan following across languages.

The latest installment, Drishyam 3, continued that legacy at the box office. The film emerged as a big success in theatres despite receiving extremely mixed word of mouth.

After completing its theatrical run, Drishyam 3 is now gearing up for its OTT premiere. The streaming rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, which has officially announced that the film will begin streaming from June 18.

The announcement has generated considerable excitement among Mohanlal fans and followers of the Drishyam series who may have missed the film in theatres. The franchise has consistently attracted viewers not only because of its suspense elements but also due to its emotionally grounded storytelling and clever screenplay.

While the film performed exceptionally well in Kerala and emerged as another successful chapter in the franchise, it disappointed in the Telugu market. Despite the strong brand value of the Drishyam name, the film failed to generate significant box office collections among Telugu audiences.

At present, the OTT release appears to be limited to the Malayalam version. There is no official confirmation yet regarding the availability of Telugu or other dubbed language versions on the platform. Fans from other regions are now waiting for Amazon Prime Video to clarify whether additional language options will be added in the coming weeks.

We have to see what kind of response Drishyam 3 gets on OTT. Will it get a second chance, or will it be rejected by OTT audiences, who are often more ruthless than theatrical audiences, as an unworthy successor to the Drishyam franchise?
