EAMCET to ignite new row between TS-AP!

andhra-and-telangana-mapSince the appointed day, controversies continue to brew one after the other between the Telugu states. The new controversy now may be the conducting of EAMCET examination this summer. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act pitches for a common entrance test for both the states for the next 10 years but Telangana state is thinking on the lines have a separate examination.

Common EAMCET will mean that 15 per cent open merit quota is open to non-local candidates where they compete with the local meritorious students. The better of them will be allotted the seat irrespective of the region in both States.

If both the states conduct separate examination then both the states will have separate Merit lists. Also candidates of one state will have a chance to appear for the test of other state and further intensify the issues pertaining to the seat allocations. The final decision regarding a separate entrance test in Telangana will be taken this week in a high level meeting of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE).
