The foul cry of Fringe groups is becoming louder and louder in Kollywood. When it happened for Viswaroopam, every one remained silent taking it as an isolated incident. But their dominance is growing day by day. Linguswamy had to withdraw his Inam from theaters to pacify a group and now another group is raising issues with Vadivelu’s Tenali Raman. Some of the protesters are threatening to stall the shooting of Kamal Hassan’s Uttama Villain too.
“In fact, Kollywood is at mistake this time. They started bowing down to every dick and harry and now a group crops up and call for stalling and banning of movies” said a source in Chennai. “When big players like Kamal Hassan and Linguswamy are not spared how can small film makers face this music?” is the question. The Tamil Film Producers Council could not come to rescue of the film makers fearing backlash of these groups. “We guide the film makers in sorting out the trouble. Strictly there is little we can do other than that”, said TPFC President KR.
