The long-standing industry buzz surrounding the mythological magnum opus Hiranyakashyap has taken an interesting turn.
Director Gunasekhar has finally broken his silence regarding the project, shedding light on a private phone conversation he had with star director Trivikram Srinivas.
For a long time, Tollywood circles were flooded with reports that Trivikram had completely taken over the director’s chair for this highly anticipated film. Given the project’s scale, the development sparked significant curiosity.
To clear the air, Gunasekhar took matters into his own hands and called Trivikram directly to ask if he was directing the movie. Trivikram reportedly offered an immediate, clear-cut response.
“I am only involved on the writing side of the project. I have absolutely no intention of directing this film,” Trivikram clarified.
Beyond the directorial puzzle, Gunasekhar also pulled back the curtain on why his original version of the movie stalled. Long before the current layout took shape, global entertainment powerhouses Fox Star Studios and Disney were highly eager to bankroll the dream project.
However, the scale of the vision pushed the estimated budget to a massive ₹300 crore. Gunasekhar admitted that he ultimately decided to halt the project himself, realizing that he could not effectively work out or manage a film with such a heavy financial burden at that time.
