Catcalls and eve-teasing are a reality in India that most if not all women have had to face. This has never been clearer than when actress Taapsee Pannu shared some of these incidents she faced when she was living in Delhi as a teenager. Taapsee was born and raised in Delhi and she boldly speaks out about the harassment she faced when travelling through public transport. Taapsee says that until she got her own car when she was 19, she used to take the DTC buses to go to college. During these times, she faced eve-teasing on a daily basis and some men went as far to touch inappropriately. Not only this, going to crowded places during festivals and such meant the same thing. Tapsee admitted she been touched and rubbed at wrong places in buses.
She also lamented the fact that our way of upbringing prevents us from speaking out about these incidents and instead we feel that it is our own fault.
