Very few roles get the credit of being dream roles for any actor and when such an oppurtunity knocks at the door, one should be bold enough to take the challenge. Kangana Ranaut is one such actress who took the challenge and her boldness paid off in bounty. With ‘Queen’ and ‘Revolver Rani’, she proved herself as one of the most talented actress of Indian Cinema. Many actresses down South were excited about the role of Rani (Kangana’s character) in ‘Queen’ and Samanta was one among them who was too keen to do the film.
After Tamil producer Thiyagarajan bought the remake rights for the film, Samanta was the first name on cards alongwith other big heroine names like Shruti, Tamanna, Anushka and Trisha. To suit it to the nativity of South, the script needed some changes and the necessary changes were done. While promoting her film ANS, in an interview to media Samanta officially confirmed that she is not doing ‘Queen’ remake as she didn’t like the changes made in the name of making it suitable for the nativity of South. In a way she is right. Experiments on movies which achieved cult status may sometimes prove totally an injustice to the original like in the case of ‘Kahani’ remake ‘Anamika’.
