There’s a dialogue in Prasthanam delivered by Sai Kumar: Hero lu, villain lu leree natakam lo. Likewise, every person has shades of grey that emerge for different reasons. In Kaantha, ego clashes are what push the characters toward their darker sides.
Dulquer Salmaan and Samuthirakani appear as a star and a mentor-cum-filmmaker, respectively. However, their egos eventually lead to a fallout. The rest of the story revolves around who gains the upper hand in realizing their ambitious project.
Bhagyashri Borse plays the role of an actress who is in love with Dulquer’s character, while also holding deep respect for Ayya, portrayed by Samuthirakani. It will be interesting to see what circumstances compel a cop to intervene between these characters. Rana takes on that role, portraying a ferocious cop with a hint of comedy.
In conclusion, it remains to be seen who will ultimately emerge as the hero and who will turn out to be the villain.
