Suriya’s brother Karthi hasn’t had a hit or even a film worth to talk about in a long time. After four back-to-back flops such as Bad Boy, Biriyani and two other Tamil films, his career is not going the way he would have expected it to go. In Madras, Karthi plays a character residing in North Madras (now Chennai) and he plays football in the film. In order, to look authentic playing the sport, Karthi spent 10 days training in the sport.
Although he couldn’t master the art of playing football but he said that he could at least play better than before. Karthi believed he should get trained in the sport because he wanted to ensure that he got into the skin of the character. He even trained for few days to speak in the North Madras accent and literally lived with them for few days to observe them from close quarters.
For the first time, Karthi has teamed up with a team in which everybody is younger to him. He says that made him very conscious at times, but he clarified that it didn’t change they fact how much they worked hard on this project.
