Cinema has become an extremely demanding craft these days as directors are facing this extreme pressure of having to deliver with every single film. There is absolutely no place for leeway or comfort zone here.
Earlier, Koratala Siva made Devara with NTR and this film was reasonably good success at the ticket counter. It might not be the most novel film from Telugu Cinema in recent times, but it somehow worked the trick at the ticket counter.
However, Siva could not materialise a single film even after the release of Devara. None of the star heroes opened any kind of discussion with him regarding the next collaboration either.
It was strange to see a senior director who delivered a reasonable commercial success ended up without another project at hand for such a long period of time.
Now a similar scenario is being observed in the case of Buchi Babu who got to work with a superstar like Charan for his second project itself. He delivered in okayish film in the form of Peddi which has decent commercial appeal.
However, cinema going people have moved on from accepting ordinary filmmaking. So the mediocre and standard staff cooked by Buchi got outrightly sidelined at the creative level. Even after delivering a film with a big star like Charan, Buchi is left with no other project at hand.
It turns out to be that the directors who had worked with Charan and Tarak are facing an extremely interesting situation where they delivered alright commercial films but there’s literally no recognition for them thereafter.
