Ajay Bhupathi’s Srinivasa Mangapuram, starring newcomers Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni and Rasha Thadani, is releasing on July 30. As the release date approaches, the makers are aggressively promoting the film.
One rumor, however, excited Mahesh Babu fans more than anything else.
Since Jayakrishna belongs to the Ghattamaneni family, reports suggested that Mahesh Babu would attend the film’s grand pre-release event as the chief guest. With Mahesh currently busy shooting Varanasi, fans were looking forward to seeing him make a rare public appearance while also encouraging a youngster from his own family.
However, the latest industry buzz suggests that Mahesh is unlikely to attend the event.
If true, it could be a setback for Jayakrishna‘s debut. Having a superstar like Mahesh Babu at a newcomer’s launch event would have brought tremendous media attention and given the film a significant promotional boost just before its release.
Of course, Mahesh’s absence, if true, could simply be due to his packed shooting schedule for Varanasi and prior commitments. There is no official word from his team or the film’s makers yet.
Until then, the reports should be treated as speculation. But if Mahesh ultimately skips the event, it is bound to disappoint many fans who were hoping to see him support the new kid from his own family.
