Interestingly, they ensured that the original Malayalam movie, ‘Porinju Mariam Jose,’ was removed from Amazon Prime Video in both India and the US.

However, the details of their agreement with Amazon Prime to facilitate the removal remain unknown. This decision comes at a cost, given that the streaming rights for the Malayalam film were already acquired by the streamer.
In any case, taking up another remake at this time is a bold move. The upcoming Sankranthi festival and any potential changes to the original should help. Luckily, not many Telugu viewers have seen the original ‘Porinju Mariam Jose.
