Negative Propaganda Against Prabhas?

Negative Agenda Against Prabhas

Despite mixed word of mouth, Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD is performing well at the box office. The film is doing decently in Telugu states, fantastically in Hindi, and impressively in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In the US, it is on a record-breaking spree.

However, questions have been raised about the accuracy of Kalki’s box office collections. A prominent national news portal published an article accusing the filmmakers of inflating the numbers to mislead the public.

Several trade analysts and influencers from the North provided interviews to the portal, alleging that the producers are exaggerating the collections in the media. While trade reports suggest the film has grossed 550 crores worldwide, the producers claim it has reached 700 crores.

These analysts accuse the makers of desperately aiming to hit the 1000-crore mark, while realistically, the film might max out at 850 crores.

Controversies over box office figures are common for major releases. This isn’t the first time such discrepancies have surfaced. However, the question arises: why is the national media attempting to create negativity around a Telugu film that is performing exceptionally well?

Some fans argue that there is a deliberate negative propaganda campaign against Telugu films, which are outperforming Bollywood movies featuring stars like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan.

The Hindi-speaking audience has embraced Prabhas, elevating him to one of the biggest pan-India stars. This success seems hard for some in Bollywood to accept, leading to the publication of such agenda-driven articles.

However, the news portal has now deleted the article.
