The teaser of Nayanthara‘s Mookuthi Amman 2 directed by Sundar C was released recently and is going viral on social media with mixed reactions from audiences and critics.
Even though Mookuthi Amman was a super hit, its sequel Mookuthi Amman 2 didn’t have much hype among the audience, especially because it was directed by Sundar C instead of RJ Balaji.
However, after watching the teaser, many people feel that Mookuthi Amman 2 looks totally different from the original part and feels like a high-budget serial.
Also, with the teaser, it was evident that Mookuthi Amman 2 is a grand film with lots of period portions in it. Hence, people claim that Sundar C has attempted a risky genre instead of his strong humor zone and feel that it has backfired on him, as they suggest that despite the good visuals, the teaser offers nothing new.
Meanwhile, with the teaser, the makers of Mookuthi Amman 2 have confirmed that the film will hit the screens for Diwali on November 6th. Since the makers of Suriya’s Scene have already locked the Diwali release slot, it is now all set for a neck-and-neck clash between Scene and Mookuthi Amman 2 this Diwali in Kollywood.
In response to this clash, while many people feel that Suriya’s Scene will single-handedly dominate the Diwali weekend and emerge as the clash winner, a few people feel that Mookuthi Amman 2 might turn out to be a villain for Scene and affect its box office collections.
Ultimately, with the mixed reviews for the teaser, Mookuthi Amman 2 is struggling to gain hype and it remains to be seen which film Scene or Mookuthi Amman 2 will satisfy the expectations of the audience and win the Diwali clash.
