The advent of social media has its fair share of plusses but it also has an ugly side as well. While on one hand it allows the stars to have direct connect with the fans, it also gives scope for hot headed but ultimately dumb people to troll on the stars that they do not like.
Only today we had an update (read here) on how the fan wars have made the stars feel embarrassed, we have another update where the stars are made a joke on such public platform. A random person part of the social networking site, Twitter, called the latest star entrant Pawan Kalyan a “joker” and followed it up with calling Rajinikanth a budhau (oldie) and taxi driver. While this highlights how insensitive an individual can be what followed next highlights a much deeper insecurity and ugliness. The comments were soon picked up by a bunch of idiots who tried to enjoy this ugly stuff which turned into a storm eventually.
The question we would like to ask here is who is wrong here – the insensitive commenter or the idiots rallying behind her showing their ugly side. In the past similar comments were made on Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan as well which shows us that none is immune to such senseless remarks. Shouldn’t we all therefore be a united force under such circumstances rather than getting enjoyment out of it? In internet everyone has an opinion and each opinion would find support from a likeminded fellow. What if the opinion itself is an offensive one? Shouldn’t it be condemned to begin with?
What do you think of this menace? Despite our liking or lack of it they are still our icons, should such insensitivity be tolerated?
