Ram Charan has returned to the big screens with his latest film Peddi which released in theatres on June 4 with paid premier on June 3. This rural action drama had a reasonable opening at the global box office.

According to the latest communication made by the makers of this film, it has reportedly collected ₹135 crore at the global box office on the opening day. This is the number that has been presented by the production house.

The number could have been significantly higher if the film had a solid trailer and a strong promotional campaign to back it up. But nevertheless, this is a solid number and it is almost entirely due to the star power of Charan.

The early reviews have been moderately encouraging for the film, so it might have a decent stay at the ticket counters over the weekend.

Charan is on the heroes with neutral acceptance among the Telugu audience, so this film will certainly make the most of the existing vacuum for big hero film experience and the neutral acceptance factor.

With moderate reviews and word of mouth, it has to be seen how well this rural sports action drama would hold up at the ticket counter over the weekend domestically and abroad.

The film has completed the North American Premier with $1.57 million gross which is second highest for Charan after RRR, but this is an ordinary number for a top star. Charan needs to work on this particular overseas market.
