According to the latest reports, Fauzi, the much-anticipated Prabhas starrer directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, will be made as a two-part cinematic series. Positioned as a fictionalized retelling inspired by real events, Fauzi aims to spotlight lesser-known stories from India’s colonial era.
Hanu Raghavapudi confirmed that the project was designed as a two-film saga from the beginning. The second part will serve as a prequel. Explaining his vision, he said:
“We are portraying one world of Prabhas in this movie. The second installment will explore another dimension. There is abundant material from our colonial past. These are stories that ended tragically but could have been fairy tales in another reality. I have also woven in a few real-life experiences that inspired me.”
Touted as Mythri’s most ambitious production, Fauzi promises emotional depth and large-scale spectacle. Marketed as a union of generations, the film carries the tagline The bravest tale of a soldier. Raghavapudi also noted that the film aims to present freedom fighters as inspiring icons. He added that they should not be seen only as tragic figures.
Fans are now concerned about the timing of announcing a prequel even before the first film’s release. Prabhas is already tied to several multi part projects. These include Salaar 2, Kalki 2 and now Fauzi 2. Many feel his slate is becoming overcrowded. Some argue that such pre-mature announcements can reduce excitement for the first film which hasn’t even been released. They also fear that it might make audiences feel Fauzi Part 1 will end on an incomplete note.
Prabhas has a long list of pending films. These include Raja Saab, Spirit, Fauzi, Kalki 2, Salaar 2, a film with Prem Rakshith and a few more under discussion. Fans worry that this overload may dilute the buzz around each release. Fauzi is carrying the least hype among all Prabhas films as of now. Spirit is the most awaited one due to Sandeep Reddy Vanga factor. Whether the early Fauzi 2 reveal helps or hurts the hype of Fauzi Part 1 is something only time and the audience will decide.
