From Teaser Buzz to Modi’s Desk: Fauzi Row

Prabhas Fauzi teaser Netaji controversy narendra modi

Prabhas Fauzi teaser has drawn a formal complaint from Chandra Kumar Bose, grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Bose has written to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking action over the teaser’s portrayal of Netaji.

Bose wants the teaser pulled down, corrected and re-released. The objection centres on a fictionalised sequence set in Berlin in 1942, involving Netaji and Adolf Hitler, in which Prabhas character is introduced as a fictional spy.

Bose has argued that the scene trivialises Netaji’s legacy and has questioned how the content received clearance from the censor board. His intervention takes the issue beyond the online backlash, putting the film’s use of historical figures at the centre of the debate.

For the Fauzi team, the timing makes the controversy significant. The film is still awaiting release, but its teaser has already drawn objections over its treatment of a major figure in India’s freedom struggle. The makers now face questions over a scene that was meant to introduce the world of Prabhas’ character but has instead sparked a debate about Netaji’s portrayal.

Whether the team responds to Bose’s demands remains to be seen. For now, the controversy has become another talking point surrounding Fauzi, with the focus firmly on its portrayal of Netaji rather than Prabhas alone.
