After enjoying the huge success of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Megastar Chiranjeevi is now getting ready for his next film, which will be directed by Bobby. Initially, the makers planned to begin shooting in February itself. However, the project got delayed. Industry talk suggests that the production house KVN Productions has been busy dealing with multiple issues.
On one side, they postponed Jana Nayakudu, and on the other, they were occupied with the release and controversies surrounding Toxic. Because of this, the Chiranjeevi Bobby film was pushed back. As of now, the team is considering starting regular shooting either in April or May.
Regarding casting, inside reports say that Priyamani is finalized to play Chiranjeevi’s wife in the film. For the daughter’s role, Anaswara Rajan, who recently acted in Champion, is said to be nearly locked. Anurag Kashyap is going to play the villain. However, the team has not made any official announcements yet.
While these updates sound promising, fans are especially excited about another key aspect, the powerful character written for Mohanlal. Reports say that he responded positively to the role, as it was designed in a very strong and impactful manner. However, due to date issues, he might step away from the project. This uncertainty is the reason why the makers have not made any announcement yet. If Mohanlal opts out, it remains to be seen who will replace him. Sources suggest that Mammootty may not be considered, as Mohanlal reportedly would not like that choice. There were also rumors that Karthi was approached earlier, but there is no confirmation from any side.
Initially, the makers aimed for a Sankranti 2027 release. Looking at the current delays, meeting that deadline seems difficult. Unlike Anil Ravipudi, Bobby does not work at a very fast pace. This film is not a light family entertainer but a full fledged gangster drama with heavy action episodes and fights.
If this film finishes quickly, Chiranjeevi is expected to move on to a project with Srikanth Odela. Before all that, the long pending release issues of Vishwambhara still need resolution, adding more pressure to Chiranjeevi’s lineup.
