Yash, who is playing Ravana in highly anticipated Ramayana, produced by Namit Malhotra and himself, interacted with media at comic con. Sony Pictures have come forward to distribute the film Internationally and he presented the story of the film on global scale. He said, “Ramayana is a human story said on larger-than-life scale.”
He explained, “Ramayana stayed for thousands of years with every Indian and in fact my grandfather first narrated it to me as a kid. So, it is such a fascinating human story that you see how ego can bring down a man who is powerful, well-educated, talented to his knees due to series of bad decisions.”
Yash also stated that Ramayana protects the emotional core of Lord Ram and Sita’s story without any deviations. He said, “Even though I am playing an antagonist, I see myself as a man who is playing this powerful person, a human, in this film. We are very careful in not hurting any sentiments at the same time not take away crux of the story.”
He promised that audiences will be fascinated, engrossed, entertained and in awe of the visuals. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are playing leading roles in the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are scoring for the film and DNEG is handling VFX for this Diwali release.
