The strength of a film has always been decided by the box office numbers. But there is another thing that also determines the possibility of a film’s long run in theatres, which is the views for its trailer on YouTube.
The upcoming months are going to witness the arrival of some big films, and one of them is Ramayana. The list of the ten most-viewed Indian trailers in the first 24 hours is out and unfortunately, Ramayana has not made it yet to the top spot.
Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar is on top with 113.2 million views. This is followed by K.G.F. Chapter 2 with 106.5 million views. The movie is still remembered for creating records in the North Indian markets.
The next is Pushpa 2 wih 104.2 million views. The fourth spot has been surprisingly taken by Adipurush with 74 million views, which received a lot of criticism for bringing a modern version of Ramayana with a lot of mistakes.
The release trailer of Salaar is in the fifth position with 72.2 million views. Ranbir Kapoor’s first A-rated film and his most violent film, Animal, has taken the sixth spot with 71.4 million views.
The other positions have been taken by Game Changer, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Dunki, and Sky Force.
Netizens reacted to the list, with a lot of people saying that it has proved once again that the trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s film did not meet the expectations. The mistakes have been already pointed out by people.
While a few stated that it was not bad like Adipurush, people questioned why the trailer of Namit Malhotra’s mythological epic could not surpass the numbers recorded by Om Raut’s film, which remains a subject of criticism until today.
Some reactions stated that the hype created before the arrival of the trailer was intended to just get some views and good box office numbers. The same people even alleged that movie is going to be an underwhelming experience for the audience.
On the other hand, trade experts said that the makers should take the audience feedback in a positive way and correct the mistakes that they have done before the film arrives at the big screen.
Considering that the trailer did not have more views compared to Adipurush, questions are being raised about whether audience have lost interest after watching the new glimpse. It remains to be seen if this thing is going to impact the box office numbers during the theatrical run.
