The trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is out now after a long wait. While it has received mixed reviews, trade experts and audiences are saying that it will take a big opening due to the hype created by the news reports and glimpses that came before the trailer.
Meanwhile, actor Nitish Bharadwaj, who played Lord Krishna in BR Chopra’s mega serial Mahabharat, has also shared his opinion, praising the film and addressing everything that the film deserves, including an Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
Nitish appreciated Ranbir Kapoor’s work and shared some advice for him, saying that he should now avoid doing random films like Animal, saying that it can pollute the image he is going to create as Lord Ram. He wrote that Ranbir is now at the same level where Ranveer Singh stands after Dhurandhar.
While netizens agreed with what Nitish said, the criticism towards Ranbir Kapoor has still not stopped on social media. The actor’s dialogue delivery was specifically pointed out in a moment where he says that he will bring back Sita. Netizens stated that his voice and dialogue delivery were similar to what they heard from him in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
Some even compared Ranbir’s personality in the film to Animal, alleging that the actor is still not out of the character that he portrayed in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film. A particular section questioned whether Ranbir was having a sore throat and the movie was shot despite the makers knowing about the issue.
A few others openly admitted that the aura of Lord Ram was missing in Ranbir Kapoor. They even compared it to Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, saying that the well-known TV actor has a better screen presence and aura compared to Ranbir.
As of now, the makers or the actors have not responded to the criticism. However, the question that is being raised after the trailer is whether the negative comments are going to impact the movie’s business in some manner. Nothing much can be said right now until the film arrives on the big screen.
The biggest drawback of “Ramayana” is Ranbir Kapoor still feels he is stuck in his “Animal” era, not fully out of that persona.
