Rana Daggubati is never the one for controversies. He is a soft spoken guy and rarely does he make a public appearance. However, a huge controversy engulfed after he indirectly mocked Bollywood star daughter Sonam Kapoor.
At the King Of Kotha event in Hyderabad the other day, Rana said “there was this one time when Dulquer was shooting for a film. I went there after knowing it. Then there’s this heroine who was on the phone with her husband, discussing her shopping plan in Mumbai. But Dulquer remained focused and did the shot effectively.”
It was later tracked down by netizens that Rana was referring to Bollywood star daughter Sonam Kapoor with his comments.
Shortly after, the controversy began to escalate. And now, Rana has issued an apology to Sonam and also Dulquer.
“I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted.
I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding.” Rana tweeted a little while ago.
Rana now hopes to put an end to this controversy with this affirmative statement.
