Rashmika Mandanna had the audience laughing at the Mysaa event when the conversation turned to the way she speaks.
Rashmika said she doesn’t know the difference between diction and the different ways people speak. Then she looked at the crowd and asked if they were at least able to understand her. There was no long explanation from her. She seemed to take the whole thing quite casually.
That is understandable given how often Rashmika has to move between languages for her films. She has worked in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, and her way of speaking has been discussed plenty of times along the way.
At this event, though, she wasn’t looking to get into another debate about accents or pronunciation. She just wanted to know whether the people in front of her were following what she was saying.
It was a small moment, but probably one of the more natural exchanges from the event. Rashmika’s response also showed that she doesn’t seem too interested in getting caught up in the technicalities when the basic communication is already happening.
