All is fair in love and war say people. If the same saying can be translated into RGV’s thought process, it can be traslated to ‘All is fair in cinema & publicity’. This time not only the poster but also the title of the movie was subjected to controversy. Savitri is one of the characters in our mythology whose story has been popular for chastity. Now RGV questions, “Does that mean other female names aren’t chaste? I’m ashamed of such narrow thinking of people”

And on the poster concept, RGV clarifies that the woman in the picture is not the teacher of the boy who is looking at her. He lashed out on the organisations who had made this controversial for cheap publicity and asked them not to deprive him his freedom of expression. He gives illustrations of previous cult movies in Indian Cinema in which younger kids have fallen in love with older women.

In the press note he released of late he discussed the above said points and further added, ‘Just by watching my poster if those people are imagining the story of the film and taking it for granted that the woman in the poster is a teacher is highly deplorable.’ RGV is going to explain in detail and write to the Commission for Protection of Child Rights his point of view in making the film and the concept behind it. RGV might not be right always but his thought process is different and way ahead of generation among the traditionalists. Result is the inevitable clash between something revolutionary and the traditional outlook.
