Sankranti Heroine Winner!

Naa Saami Ranga Ashika Ranganath

Nagarjuna was really insistent on releasing “Naa Saami Ranga” during Sankranthi, believing it was the perfect time for success. Turns out, he was spot on!

The movie got a mixed response but raked in good money, especially in Andhra Pradesh, putting an end to Nagarjuna’s box office dry spell. This not only brought relief to actors like Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun but also brought a new star into the limelight – Ashika Ranganath.

Ashika must be the most significant takeaway from the film. She is beautiful, naturally talented, and solid screen presence. She can manage mature and younger roles with ease as seen in the film.

Resembling Anushka Shetty in a few angles, which is a huge plus for her, she managed to hold her own and impress the audience despite being pitted against Nagarjuna. She has the potential to become a successful heroine in Tollywood, though there is still a long way to go.

Tollywood directors should take notice of her looks and talent, casting her in roles that require both glamour and skill. She is a welcome addition to Telugu cinema. If makers could tap Ashika’s potential fully, she could easily fill in the void for heroines in the industry, where talented actresses are currently in short supply.

If we look at all the heroines of Sankranti movies – Sreeleela (Guntur Kaaram), Amritha Aiyer (HanuMan), Shraddha Srinath (Saindhav) – Ashika Ranganath, who has a lovely screen presence in Naa Saami Ranga, is definitely a winner among Sankranti heroines.
