Sometimes many of our wishes go unheeded for simple reasons like financial issues or else there is no one to listen and care for us. Shahida, a 62-year old Indian woman working in Sharjah as a maid too didn’t have anywhere to go to in her native place. She has no house. She had to sell her house and all her property to get her three daughters married off.

All her earnings went into paying the huge debts incurred. All this she shared with an RJ when she was on air for a programme, ‘Home For Eid’. Moved by her story, the RJ shared the story of the maid on Facebook and instantly Shahida’s story got huge response. It has been 20 years since she has been working in Sharjah.
After coming to know about the story of Shahida and her wish to have her wn house in her village, Malayalam senior actor Suresh Gopi came forward to build a house for her in her village in Kerala. She is receiving all support from the social media users who re ready to extend support to the Indian maid.
