Shruti Haasan, before turning a full-time actress, was a singer with a band. It was mostly rock-related, though. She also composed music for the Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh starrer Eenadu (Unnaipol Oruvan in Tamil). So, it doesn’t come as a surprise if she decides to sing when under lockdown.
Unfortunately, the song picked by Shruti Haasan is where she committed hara-kiri. The actress decided to do a cover of the classic single “Thenpandi Cheemayile” from the iconic Nayakan. It is “Nee Gudu Chedirindi” in Telugu.
The single is much revered not only by the fans of the star or the names related to the movie but by an entire movie-loving community. Each passing day, as more and more people are getting aware of the Shruti Haasan’s rendition, it is leading to an increase in troll. It has now reached the national level.
