Sequel to the highly successful film Singham which released yesterday on Independence Day has stunned the trade with its opening day number. The film was expected to open well as it was sequel to an extremely loved film but the kind of opening it has put up is just phenomenal and unexpected.
Brand Rohit Shetty post Chennai Express and an already popular Singham brand are seen as reason for this opening. The opening day collections of Singham Returns is over 30 Cr, a landmark which has been reached only three times so far and that too only by the top three Khan stars. Ajay Devgn is now the first non Khan actor to open film this big.
Reports suggest the film has hold up very well on its second day as well which means the film is in for a long haul.
