An old interview of actress Sobhita Dhulipala from 2018 has resurfaced on social media, triggering fresh trolling from several right-wing users.
In the viral clip, Sobhita speaks candidly about her political beliefs, saying she has “strong political opinions” and identifies herself as “left-liberal.” She also says she has a feeling that “someday communism is going to win.”
Those remarks have now become the latest target of political trolling online.
Several right-wing users have mocked her comments, calling them unrealistic and claiming that time has proved her wrong. Others have described her views as “dangerous,” while sharing the clip widely on social media.
However, the political comments are not the only reason the old interview is trending.
Another portion of the clip, where Sobhita says she would never date an actor, has also gone viral.
At the time, Sobhita had explained that actors often come with a lot of vanity and ego, which made her reluctant to date someone from the same profession. Years later, Sobhita fell in love with and married actor Naga Chaitanya in December 2024. This has prompted many social media users to point out hypocrisy.
However, Sobhita in a later interview, admitted that her views had changed over time and said she had become more open to changing some of her earlier opinions. Despite that, many social media users are comparing her past statements with her present life and turning them into memes.
This is something that often happens on social media. Old celebrity interviews frequently resurface, and comments made years ago are judged based on present-day events, even though people’s opinions and personal choices can naturally change over time.
Another left liberal who dreams of communism taking over India.
This is a very dangerous mindset.
Unfortunately their dreams will remain dreams. Communism is wiped out. Someone update her. pic.twitter.com/7rwz9DcRSQ
