Silver screen Goddess Sridevi who celebrated her 50th birthday recently lost all her happiness with the threatening calls to her hubby and famous producer Bony Kapoor. He received death threats from miscreants who demanded huge money if he wanted to be safe. Sridevi who is worried about the call asked Bony to lodge a complaint with the police and he did it promptly on her advice. Director-Producer Karan Johar has also received extortion message, forcing to him lodge a complaint with the Mumbai police. Receiving two complaints within a short span of time, Mumbai’s anti extortion teams began probing.
“We are probing to zero in on the caller in Kapoor’s case. There are no developments so far, however, our investigations are on,” said Naseer Pathan, senior inspector, Oshiwara. Extortion calls from mafia is an open secret for Bollywood but the phone calls may not be from underworld since they handle celebrities in a ‘smooth and convincing manner’ giving no scope to lodge a complaint with the police. The present threats to Bony and Karan may be from local gangs, police suspected.
